Eligibility

Students must have passed Class 12 or equivalent in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects.

B.Sc. Physician Assistant is a 3-year undergraduate Allied Health Sciences programme, where Physician Assistants are trained to be health care professionals who are qualified with theoretical and clinical training to provide health care services under the supervision of a specialist. Physician Assistants work on teams with physicians or surgeons and other health-care workers. Physician assistants work in all areas of medicine, including primary care and family medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, and psychiatry. Physician Assistant specialists are formally trained to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive health care services in virtually all medical specialties, as delegated by physician. PAs record progress notes, instruct and counsel patients, and order to carry out therapy. Additional nonclinical positions are in the pipeline for physician assistants. PAs can opt in different specialties including Cardiology, CVTS, Head & Neck and Plastic Surgery, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, GI Surgery, Endocrinology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Gynaec Oncology, General Medicine and Pediatrics.

Future Scope

Students after successful completion of the course they can find job roles such as Medical Assistant, Ortho Physician Assistant, Personal Health Facilitator, Government physician assistant, Teacher or professor in government college, Physician and surgeons assistant, Medical assistant in different companies like Max Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Ranbaxy etc. Students who are interested in doing higher studies can pursue courses such as  MSc Physician Assistant, MSc Nursing etc in any college in India or abroad.
