Students should have passed 10+2 with Science or equivalent from a recognized school board.

In this 3-year undergraduate Medical Biochemistry course students get to study about biochemical exchanges that occur within the human body in relation to their application in the field of medicine on detailed basis. Some of the topics such as molecular biology, endocrinology, and cellular biology are the other ones that are covered in medical biochemistry course.

Students can study this course both on Regular as well as part time basis as per their convenience as there are colleges that provide this course on the basis of both.

The BSc Medical Biochemistry degree examines the biochemical functioning of healthy and pathological organisms. Biochemistry basics, such as protein structure and function, are taught to students as a foundation. Cancer molecular biology, cell cycle control, and hereditary illnesses are some of the topics covered. The course gets interesting as it clubs together two different sub disciplines, biology and chemistry.

As this field progresses, the structure of living beings becomes more complex at the molecular level. Understanding the structures of proteins, carbohydrates, enzymes, lipids, and every chemical reaction breakdown in every living organism in the environment is part of the research.

Students after successfully completing the course can work as Biochemist, Medical Coder, Operations Manager, Clinical Researcher, Medical Review Officer, Product Development Manager, Research Analyst, Medical Writer, Sr Executive Assistant, Quality Assurance Officer or Asst. Professor etc in Central Forensic Lab, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Cipla, Biocon, Aurobindo Pharmacy, Documentation Examination Laboratories at government etc. Students can also pursue higher studies such as M.Sc Clinical Biochemistry, M.Sc in Medical Biochemistry etc from colleges in India or abroad.
