Eligibility

Students need to pass XII with minimum 50 % of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized Board/University.

The 3-year degree course gives you in-depth knowledge about the Cardiovascular system that includes the Heart and Circulatory system, the diagnosis and monitoring of heart diseases and different methods of treatment of heart ailments and other peripheral vascular conditions(blood vessels). Since the course is an Allied specialization in the field of medicine it imparts knowledge on the technical aspects of Cardiovascular technology, about usage of equipment used for Cardiovascular Testing and Analysis to assist doctors and other Emergency Invasive procedures which involves performing Stent implants, installing cardiac pacemakers and also defibrillators for the treatment related to heart-disorders or even open-heart surgeries. Students are given extensive training and will have to undergo theory as well as practical classes before they become a Cardiovascular professional. Throughout the course the students will also be getting exposed to certain topics such as Human Anatomy, Cardiovascular, Physiology, Pathology, Electrocardiography and Echocardiography etc.

Students after successful completion of B.Sc in Cardiovascular Technology can work as Cardiovascular Technician, Cardiovascular Technologist, Echocardiographer, Medical Sonographer, Registered Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Registered Vascular Specialist, Cath Lab Technician, ICU- etc. Few companies providing jobs to Cardiovascular Graduates are Apollo Heart Institute, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre, Max Healthcare, Wockhardt Hospitals, Sakra World Hospital, Narayan Hrudyalaya, Global Hospitals, Artemis Hospital, Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital, Christian Medical College, Asian Heart Institute. Graduates can also get to work in Govt/private Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Clinical laboratories, or Healthcare Institutions.

Students can pursue higher studies such as MS Cardiothoracic Surgery, MSc in Cardiovascular Technology etc. Students who are interested pursue Scientific Research and Development works can work under Research teams in different Research Institutes in India. Since there are certain institutes that provide Short-term Diploma/Certification courses students can also study from such institutes too.
