Minimum 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.
The 3-years degree course is generally taken up by bioscience students and deals with nutrition, food science, and dietetics which are essential to lead an ailment-less life. Syllabus covers the topics in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics Science and teaches its students how to prepare a proper diet for people, food management, components of a balanced diet, eating habits, and Lifestyle management, among others. The course provides major insights into food microbiology and nutrition, essential in maintaining a proper healthy diet daily. The is a job oriented course where students can find immense career growth. Primarily a Science subject, the Dietetics and Nutrition course forms a core to broader courses or branches such as Food Technology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry etc. and on the other hand, these subjects also form a core for the Dietetics and Nutrition courses. As today’s world is growing to be less health and diet conscious and that majority of the people are suffering from lot of diet and health related problems such as Obesity, nutrition deficiency disorders and diseases, the need for Food Nutrition and Dietetics graduates appears to increase considerably.
